Education Professor Dr. Claire Sullivan Named as 2024 Recipient of 吃瓜tv Faculty Excellence Award
Education Professor Claire Ann Sullivan, Ed.D. has been named as the 2024 recipient of the 吃瓜tv Faculty Excellence Award, Executive Vice President & Chief of Staff Dr. Sylvia McGeary announced.
Selected by her peers, Dr. Sullivan earned the recognition for her contributions to the University community and
her true reflection of the University motto, teneor votis, 鈥淚 am bound by my responsibilities.鈥 Her award was presented at the University鈥檚 annual Honors Convocation ceremony on April 29.
鈥淚n granting this honor, our faculty has recognized you as a dedicated educator who has achieved an exemplary record of teaching excellence and scholarship,鈥 Dr. McGeary said in notifying Dr. Sullivan of the award. 鈥淵ou have enjoyed a history of meaningful service to the University and the community at large. You are a true academic citizen of 吃瓜tv, one who consistently and faithfully embodies the core values of the University鈥檚 mission and exemplifies 鈥榯he value of family鈥 to all.鈥
鈥Dr. Claire Sullivan is a great pioneer in the field of Special Education,鈥 Acting Dean Dr. Alan Arroyo said. 鈥淪he came to 吃瓜tv after a career in teaching and leading in programs for students with disabilities. During her time at 吃瓜tv, she became known for her dedication, innovation, scholarship, and persistence in educating undergraduate and graduate students to be exemplary educators. Claire demonstrates to her students how to facilitate learning in K-12 students. When one observes in Claire's classroom, one sees her model the skills, knowledge, and disposition it takes to make all students achieve academically, behaviorally, and emotionally. It is not surprising that Claire's former students, who imitate their teacher and mentor, make major contributions to the field of Education. Claire is a shining example of an outstanding scholar and educator at 吃瓜tv.鈥
Dr. Sullivan holds Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degree in education from Glassboro State College (now Rowan University) and a doctoral degree from Rutgers University. She joined the faculty at 吃瓜tv in 1988.
