吃瓜tv Master鈥檚 of Counseling Students Complete 16-Week Course on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Through World-Renowned Beck Institute

吃瓜tv professor and program director of the master鈥檚 of counseling program Dr. Patrick McElwaine and acting executive director of the Beck Institute Dr. Allen Miller celebrated the achievements of 63 HFU students who successfully completed a 16-week course on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) through the world-renowned Beck Institute. Students received certificates acknowledging their efforts during a ceremony at the University鈥檚 Newtown East campus on May 10.

CBT is a form of psychotherapy that has been found to be effective in treating a wide range of psychiatric disorders, psychological problems, and medical conditions with psychological components in over 2,000 clinical studies.

All of the participating students completed one of Beck Institute鈥檚 signature on-demand training courses, CBT in Practice, a curriculum designed by Dr. Miller, giving the students access to evidence-based treatment options, interventions, and training. The students also participated in mock therapy sessions, which were scored by Beck Institute鈥檚 expert faculty.

The partnership provided Beck Institute with important information on the effectiveness of its training and allowed the 吃瓜tv students to build a strong foundation toward their goal of developing into effective therapists and difference-makers in the lives of their clients and patients.

鈥淚'm so happy we were able to collaborate with Beck Institute to provide our students more training with the end goal of being multicultural, ethical, and clinically skilled future therapists,鈥 Dr. McElwaine said.  鈥淚 am so proud of their great work.鈥
